NATURALLY MY WORLD (EXHIBITION)

Born in the UK, chemist Philip Bunce has always had a passion for Natural History. After a particularly life-changing photography trip to Iceland in 2010, the stunning frozen landscapes inspired him to start his photography project “NaturallyMyWorld” as a creative outlet to share his passion for the beauty in natural things. The photographer is always on the hunt to find the overlooked hidden charm in unusual things, be it while out for a walk or during his travels. Hence it’s not surprising that he has visited almost 600f the world, having become quite the natural at travelling and exploring new places during the weekends. Phil’s work has also been displayed in art shows for Charities in the UK. The “NaturallyMyWorld” exhibition is not only a snapshot of some of his travels, but also Phil’s first time displaying his photography in an exhibition. In his continuous hunt for the beauty in nature, he will also be sharing some of his discoveries about the typically unnoticed natural history right at our doorsteps. Phil strongly believes that together, we can all spread the word about the natural and beautiful world we all live in.

In addition to that, I was involved in writing press releases, social media copy,and crafting artist biographies to promote its Singaporean sister Gallery, as well its exhibitions.




THE BOAT THAT MOVES FORWARD (EXHIBITION)
UltraSuperNew Gallery is proud to host “The Boat That Moves Forward” - a powerful photographic exhibition illustrating one of the fastest growing humanitarian crises through the lenses of award-winning Singaporean photographers Muhammad Farhan Bin Osman, also known as FARN, and Amirnorashid Bin Amari, also known as AM. Revealing the plight of displaced Rohingya children in refugee camps, it seeks to articulate their needs, their efforts to survive, and their hope for a better future. These images don’t capture the smells of the camp, or the heat of the wind. But what they do is capture is a rare first-hand glimpse into the uncomfortable reality of the defenceless Rohingya refugee children. Living in horrific conditions without access to formal education, they are feared to become The "Lost Generation". These images serve to humanise their unsettling vulnerability before it is lost. The children’s gazes demand that we see them as more than beautifully composed photos, as if they could be our neighbours, our children, or even ourselves. Like us, they too, have hopes and dreams for the future. To experience this uncomfortable reality in person, one needs to be physically and emotionally strong. After a life-changing visit to the refugee camps in Bangladesh, photographers FARN and AM seek to portray the young refugees with the dignity they deserve, immortalising their hope and resilience. ’The Boat That Moves Forward’ invites you to witness The "Lost Generation", informing and inspiring the public by illuminating the young refugee experience through powerful imagery. AM is a event photographer based in Singapore. Drawing inspiration through music, he loves to document the local underground punk and hardcore music scene as he uncovers beauty in the chaos of a mosh pit. An introvert by default, he finds the camera to be a great tool for him to step out of his comfort zone and meet people from all over the world. He has also photographed various events internationally and locally. Previous / Next image (3 of 4) FARN is a Singaporean photographer who loves to travel as it enables him to get inspired, capture, and learn about different cultures. He has also worked in photo and editorial journalism internationally. He is one of the few photographers in Singapore who still uses both analogue & digital cameras for his work. He prefers shooting in black and white, as he believes as it creates more depth and value for the audience.
